Founded in 2004, Barbès Records is a label devoted to the documentation of impure music – idiosyncratic hybrids borne out of tradition but twisted into new shapes by adventurous musicians from Peru, Poland, Chile, Romania, Colombia, France or the US.

The label has released albums by Chico Trujillo, Miramar, Bloque Depresivo, Banda de los Muertos,  Slavic Soul Party, Chicha Libre, Hazmat Modine, Las Rubias del Norte, The Warsaw Village Band, Very Be Careful, Pierre de Gaillande, Sanda Weigl, Ambrosia Parsley, and more.
